DEADLINE EXTENDED TO AUGUST 22 TO REGISTER FOR DISASTER AID

The deadline to register for disaster assistance has been extended to August 22 for individuals and business owners in the declared Massachusetts counties of Hampden and Worcester who suffered losses due to the severe storms and tornadoes of June 1.

People may register for assistance by calling FEMA's toll-free number, 800-621-FEMA (3362) or 800-462-7585 (TTY) for people who are deaf or hard of hearing. The toll-free line is in operation from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Multilingual assistance is also available. Registration can be completed at www.disasterassistance.gov or with a smart phone at m.fema.gov.

The deadline for submitting disaster loan applications to the U.S. Small Business Administration has also been extended to August 22. Call SBA at (800) 659-2955 or visit www.sba.gov for program information.
